After all teams have settled in the beautiful 5 star Creta Maris Hotel, the captains’ meeting took place at 22:00 local in the “Aphrodita” hall. Every day at 11:00 local time (CET+1) the team compositions for the upcoming round will be published online.

The European Team Championship will be a 9 rounds Swiss System event. The players will be accommodated (with full board included) in the 5 start Creta Maris Hotel. It will also be the tournament venue with a playing hall of 2800 square meters.

The World Junior Championship could not have a more exciting finish. Five players have the chance to grab the title in the last moment and four of them will meet in direct matches! The current standings are GM Popov 9.0/12, GM Adly 9.0/12, GM Andreikin 8,5/12, GM Meier 8,5/12, and GM Wang Hao 8,5/12.

He won his 10th round game against his countryman GM Pashikian and is top of the table with 7,5/10. The co-leaders GM Popov and GM Wang Hao are with the same points, but they have worse tiebreak.

Wang Hao is on fire after the rest day of the World Junior Chess Championship in Yerevan, Armenia. After defeating IM Wesly So yesterday, today he managed to beat the current leader GM Adly. Thus, Wang Hao joined Adly on top of the table and both have 7,0/9. In the girls section WIM Vera Nebosina sank WGM Vega Gutierrez in the top board encounter and continues leading.
