Braun – Caruana LIVE!

Braun – Caruana LIVE!

Braun almost always plays 1.d4. Against the Slav (1.d4 d5 2.c4 c6), current Caruana’s main defence, Arik has a very good score, so he probably won’t avoid it with 1.Nf3, his secondary choice. After 3.Nf3 Nf6, in recent times 4.Qc2 is the star move, but it’s not in Braun’s repertoire. We’ll probably see a main line Slav, with 4.Nc3 dxc4 5.a4.

Adams – Mamedyarov LIVE!

Adams and Mamedyarov drew three classical games so far, and exchanged wins in World Rapid Blitz. Mamedyarov might try Ruy Lopez or even Pirc defence, but probably not Sicilian Paulsen which brought him in trouble against Adams in the last Mtel Masters.

Topalov – Carlsen LIVE!

In the last year Corus, Topalov beat Carlsen rather quick in the Ragozin defence, but Carlsen struck back only one month later at Linares Morelia to equalize the score. Magnus is currently leading in Corus with 4.5 points and Topalov won two consecutive games, obviously improving his form. This will be one of the critical games in the tournament. Enjoy!
