Oleg Korneev se lleva el Torneo Internacional de Ajedrez

Oleg Korneev se llevó la segunda
edición del Torneo Internacional de Ajedrez Ciudad de La Laguna,
competición que concluyó este domingo y que se venía celebrando desde
el pasado lunes en el antiguo convento de Santo Domingo de la ciudad
de Aguere. Oleg Korneev se hizo con el triunfo merced a su regularidad
en las tres últimas rondas.

Alexander Grischuk regained sole lead after his fellow Russian Ernesto Inarkiev forced too much in the King’s Indian Fianchetto. Wang Yue and Vugar Gashimov both scored draws and are left on the 2nd place tie. Mamedyarov, Radjabov and Adams moved up on the crosstable and increased chances for successful finish.

Karjakin and Carlsen didn’t have a chance to play too many games against each other, so far only two draws in the classical time control. Obviously Shakhriyar Mamedyarov enjoys playing against the Queens Indian defence. After Magnus Carlsen, he defeated another prodigy – Sergey Karjakin. Ernesto Inarkiev won against David Navara in Anti-Marshall Ruy Lopez and surrendered him the last place. Other five games finished peacefully.
