Bahamas International and Amateur

The Bahamas International and Amateur will take place on 24-28th October at the Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino, West Bay Street, Cable Beach, Nassau, Bahamas.

All sections are USCF rated. The International Section is also FIDE rated and it is possible to win IM & GM norms. The total prize fund is $12,000 guaranteed.

International Section: 9 round Swiss, 40/90, SD/30, 30 second increment.
Guaranteed prizes: $2000, $1200, $800, $600, $500, $400, top FIDE under 2400 or unrated $800-400.
Minimum prize $700 to GMs who complete all games with no byes (limited to first 6 GMs to enter).

Amateur Section: 6 round Swiss, 40/2, SD/1, d5, open to under 2200 or unrated.
Guaranteed prizes: $1200, $600, $300, $200, top Under 1900 (no unr) $700, $400.

Reserve Section: 6 round Swiss, 40/2, SD/1, d5, open to under 1600 or unrated.
Guaranteed prizes: $700-400-200-100, top Under 1300 (no unr) $350, $150; no unrated may win over $300.

Top rated players are Alex Shabalov (few days ago qualified for the 2013 World Cup), Giorgi Margvelashvili, Alexander Goldin, Eugene Perelshteyn, Joshua Friedel and Bator Sambuev.
