GM Fernando Peralta wins Villa de Navalmoral Open on tie-break

The 18th Torneo Internacional Villa de Navalmoral was held from 5th to 9th December at Hotel Moya in Navalmoral de la Mata, Spain.

The nine round Swiss event had 60 participants from 12 countries, including 15 Grandmasters. Last year winner GM Sergey Fedorchuk was the top seeded player.

Grandmasters Peralta Fernando ARG 2612, Matamoros Franco Carlos S. ECU 2519, Epishin Vladimir RUS 2575 shared the first place with 7 points each. The official website reports that Peralta is declared winner on tiebreak.

The total prize fund was 14,415 EUR, with the top prizes being EUR 3200, 2100, 1000, 800, 700, 650, 600 etc
