GM Lazaro Bruzon leading in Quebec Open

Cuban Grandmaster Lazaro Bruzon maintained the lead after six rounds of play in the 2013 Quebec Open in Montréal.

Yesterday he drew GM Elshan Moradiabadi with black pieces for the overnight count of 5,0/6 points. As many as eight players are sharing the second place half a point behind the leader.

The Quebec Open Championship 2013 is taking place on 21-28th July at the beautiful venue in Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf, 3200 Côte Sainte-Catherine, Montréal.

The tournament is being held in six sections: Invitational, Open, Section A (U2200), Section B (U1700), Section C (U1300 and unrated) and Mini-COQ.

This is the third event in the Canadian chess tour after the Edmonton International and Canadian Open in Ottawa. The total prize fund is 18,000$ guaranteed.
