GM Vladimir Epishin claims 21st HIT Open 2016

HITThe 21st HIT Open 2016 was taking place from January 29 to February 4, in Nova Gorica, Slovenia.

The event was organized by Chess Club Nova Gorica in a 9-round Swiss FIDE format with prize fund in total of 6,000 EUR.

GM Vladimir Epishin from Russia emerged a solo winner with 7.5/9 points, leaving the nearest followers half a point behind.

GM Dragisa Blagojevic from Montenegro and GM Sinisa Drazic from Serbia ties for the second place with 7 points, but Blagojevic prevailed on a better tie-break score to take the silver.
