UT-DallasGrandmasters Bartlomiej Macieja and Varuzhan Akobian ascended above the rest of the field in the UT Dallas Spring FIDE Open to finish joint winners with 7,0/9 points each, point and a half ahead of the nearest followers.

The 2014 UT Dallas Spring FIDE Open, underwritten by Turner Construction, took place from 8th to 13th March at The Embassy Suites – Park Central in Dallas, USA.

The tournament was organized by The University of Texas at Dallas, Luis Salinas and James Stallings.
