OIBM Bad Wiessee 2014

Bas WiesseThe 18th Offene Internationale Bayerische Schachmeisterschaft is scheduled to take place from 25th October to 2nd November 2014 in Bad Wiessee, a spa town on Lake Tagernsee in Bavarian Region of Germany.

The event is 9-round Swiss Open Tournament with the time control 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, plus 30 seconds increment starting from move one.

Top prizes are: 2.500 €/ 2.000 €/ 1.500 €/ 1.000 €/ 900 €/ 800 €/ 700 €/ 600 €/ 500 €/ 400 €.

The tournament consists of 480 players, including 25 GMs. Top seeded are Armenian GM Hrant Melkumyan (2678), German GM Liviu-Dieter Nisipeanu (2672), Russian GM Konstantin Landa (2670), last year’s winner GM Alexander Delchev from Bulgaria (2660), Israeli GM Evgeny Postny (2641), Indian GM Chanda Sandipan (2619) and Ukrainian GM Andrey Sumets (2618).
