Beograd Beopublikum wins Serbian Team Championship

Ahead of VSK Gorenje, on additional criteria

What an epic last round! Two powerful teams displayed wonderful chess and team spirit, but the winner can be only one. At the end, Beograd Beopublikum and VSK Gorenje were even in both team and individual scores and the former took the trophy only on 2nd additional criteria - their mutual match score. Three last placed are being relegated to the 2nd division - Bora Kostic, Agronom and Rad.

VSK Gorenje and Beograd Beopublikum going even into the last round

Spartak suffered painful 1.5-4.5 defeat at the hands of BSK Gambit and dropped to 4th place as Novosadski SK demolished Bora Kostic. The two teams will meet eachother in the last round. Radnicki and Sloga Amiga employed treacherous tactics of setting quick 3-3 without play, leaving Bora Kostic in dangerous zone. Any other result would favor Bora Kostic, but maybe they got what they deserved as they did exactly the same in earlier rounds.
