Fantastic finish of the Serbian Team Championship

Beograd Beopublikum and VSK Gorenje tied on the top, Spartak lost

Beograd Beopublikum was in the lead for one round, but the drowning Sloga Amiga held them off to 3-3 tie, thus allowing VSK Gorenje to catch up again. Gorenje and Beopublikum are even on 14 points, but Gorenje has better additional criteria - individual scores - at the moment. There are two rounds to go, both teams are having relatively easy pairings but surprises are always possible.

The last placed Rad achieved their first win against no less than 2nd placed Spartak. FM Sinisa Dujkovic beat GM Nikola Djukic with black pieces and junior Petar Krstic scored his first win against high-rated Sinisa Popov. The decisive point was brought by GM Evgeny Postny in his kings indian marathon vs GM Nikola Sedlak.

The second-to-last Agronom beat Bora Kostic 3.5-2.5 dragging them down into the dangerous zone. Three teams will be relegated, but Sloga Amiga has easier schedule than Bora Kostic. Partizan arranged another 3-3 tie without play, a behavior that clearly ruins the event's prestige. Perhaps the officials should plan how to fight this attitude next year.

GM Dragoljub Velimirovic and GM Dejan Antic

Branko Damljanovic finely outplayed heavyweight Zahar Efimenko in the N+B endgame to give the lead to VSK Gorenje. Dragoljub Velimirovic lost a very important game yesterday, but that can't break the old lion who played fantastic game with black pieces. The standings are unchanged, heading into the last round Radnicki Rudovci is on top one point ahead of BAS. Radnicki have wonderful chance to stay there as in the last match they face Jugovic, while BAS has to work hard against 3rd-placed Spartak.
