GM Fabiano Caruana is the 67th Italian Champion! Fabiano won the title yesterday by completing a fantastic run at the Italian Chess Championship. Two rounds before the end of the 11 round Swiss event, he is with 7,5/9 and is 2 points before the chasing pack. Congratulations Fabiano!
An interesting fact is that Fabiano Caruana was the first chess player that Chessdom wrote an article about. This happened on April 1, 2007, and since then Fabiano is our lucky charm. We hope we are the lucky charm for him as well :)
The next challenge for Fabiano Caruana will be the Corus Chess 2008, where he will meet players such as Cheparinov, Bacrot, Harikrishna, Krasenkow, l'Ami, Smeets
