The young chess star Ioannis Papadopoulos brought the surprise at the Greek Chess Championship 2007 and grabbed the title with 7.5/9, full two points ahead of the group of established Grandmasters. Experienced WIM Marina Makropoulou had Women Championship under control and clinched the title with 6.5 points in the women section.
The young Californian Daniel Naroditsky took the U12 title at the recently played 2007 World Youth Chess Championship. He had a series of interviews after he went back home.
