Young Grandmasters’ Cup of Russia (men)

The Young Grandmasters’ Cup of Russia (men) will take place from 1st January to 11th February, 2013 as part of the International Chess Festival “Moscow Open 2013″, at the Russian State Social University (RSSU), B. Pick Street, 4, metro station “Botanical Garden” in Moscow.

This event will offer a prize fund of 250,000 rubles or approximately 8,000 USD, with around 2,600 USD reserved for the winner.

This tournament is organized so that the young Russian players get the possibility to play in a strong closed round-robin. The rating average of the players is 2533,5. The top seed will be the GM Aleksander Shimanov, followed by the talented Armenian Robert Hovhannisyan.
