The 11th Karen Asrian Memorial is taking place in the Armenian mountain spa town of Jermuk from 21-29 June 2018. The 9-round Swiss Open is held in memory of Karen Asrian, the 3-time Armenian Champion who died in 2008 at the age of only 28. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. The prize fund is $27,000, with $7,000 for first place.
