18th Mid-America Open

The 18th Annual Mid-America Open will be held from March 14-16, 2014, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel St. Louis-Clayton, 7750 Carondelet Ave., St. Louis, Missouri.

The event has 7 sections: Open, Under 2100, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1300 and Under 1000.

All sections have either 3-day (March 14-16) or 2-day (March 15-16) schedules to play in.

The event has a $20,000 prize fund, based on 250 entries, with $16,000 minimum guaranteed.

Open Section: $2000-1000-500-300, clear winner or 1st on tiebreak $100 bonus, top U2300/Unr $800-400. FIDE rated (USCF rules used).
Under 2100 Section: $1400-700-400-200.
Under 1900 Section: $1400-700-400-200.
Under 1700 Section: $1300-700-400-200.
Under 1500 Section: $1200-600-300-200.
Under 1300 Section: $1000-500-300-200.
Under 1000 Section: $400-300-200-100, plaques to first 3, top Under 800, Under 600, Unrated.
Unrated may enter any section, with prize limits: U1000 $200, U1300 $400, U1500 $600, U1700 $800.
