1st ASEAN International Youth Championships

The 1st ASEAN International Youth Championships will be incorporated in the 9th Singapore International Chess Festival 2012 and take place from 6th to 12th August in Singapore.

This event is organized by Singapore Chess Federation under the auspices of Singapore Sports Council.

The playing venue is Nanyang Primary School, 52 King’s Road Singapore 268097, while accommodation is provided at Hotel Cherry Loft, 180 Rangoon Road Singapore 218442.

Rate of play will be 40 moves in 2 hours followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, all without time increment. Zero-Start shall be applied. FIDE-rated and titled.

The total prize fund amounts to S$44,000. All prizes will be paid in Singapore dollars – (US$1 approx. S$1.26).

Open Category (Under-8, Under-11, Under-14 & Under-17 as at 1.1.2012) (S$26,000):
1st S$1500; 2nd S$1000; 3rd S$800; 4th S$600; 5th S$400; 6th & 7th S$300 each; 8th to 15th S$200 each

Girls Category (Under-8, Under-11, Under-14 & Under-17 as at 1.1.2012) (S$18,000):
1st S$1000; 2nd S$800; 3rd S$600; 4th S$500; 5th S$400; 6th & 7th S$300 each; 8th to 10th S$200 each

SCF reserves the right to merge categories which have less than 10 players and re-structure the prize fund of the category.
