The 2025 US Chess Championship and the 2025 US Women Chess Championship will take place in Saint Louis, October 12 to October 25, 2025. These are the most prestigious chess events in the country, and they crown the nation’s top players. The tournament is also among the top events of The Chess Calendar.
Held in the upgraded tournament hall, the U.S. Championship and U.S. Women’s Championship will showcase elite talent, fierce rivalries and the rising stars of American chess. Each field will feature 12 players facing off over the board October 12-25 as they compete for a total purse of more than $400,000.

Over 11 grueling rounds, the nation’s strongest players will battle for the most coveted titles in American chess, competing for a combined prize fund of $402,000. These championships, which have crowned legends from Bobby Fischer to Fabiano Caruana, determine our national champions and showcase the exceptional depth of American chess talent.
The games will be streamed live daily at 12:20 PM CT with expert commentary and analysis from the world-renowned team of Grandmaster Yasser Seirawan, Grandmaster Maurice Ashley, and Woman Grandmaster Katerina Nemcova.
