31th International Böblinger Open 2014

The 31th International Böblinger Open 2014 is taking place on 26-30th December 2014 in the Mercure Hotel**** in the city of Böblingen.

The event is a 9-round Swiss tournament with tempo of play 120’/40 + 30′.

The festival will be split into 3 tournaments:
Open A – open to all players rated higher than 1900
Open B – open to all players rated below 2000
Open C – open to all players rated below 1500

The prize fund will be awarded as follows:
Open A: 1.000 €/ 800 €/ 600 €/ 500 €/ 400 €/ 300 €/ 200 €/ 150 €/ 100 €/ 80 €/ 70 €/ 60 €/ 50 €
Open B: 600 €/ 400 €/ 200 €/ 150 €/ 100 €/ 50€
Open C: 300 €/ 200 €/ 100 €/ 80 €/ 60 €/ 40 €

The highest rated players in the Master Section are: GM Peter Prohaszka (2599) Hungary, GM Vitaly Kunin (2580) Germany, GM Stanislav Novikov (2550) Russia, GM Arik Braun (2549) Germany, GM Vadim Shishkin (2481) Ukraine, IM Felix Graf (2479) Germany, IM Oliver Mihok (2454) Hungary and IM Matthias Dann (2452) Germany.
