3rd Open Iasi International Chess Festival

IasiThe 3rd International Chess Festival Open Iasi is scheduled to take place from June 13-20, 2016, at the Polyvalent Hall of Iasi, the largest city in eastern Romania.

The huge event will be split into 16 different tournaments:

Open A – 9-round Swiss tournament, open to all players;
Open B – 9-round Swiss open tournament for players rated below 2000 Elo;
Open C – 9-round Swiss open tournament for players born after 1st January 2016.
Open D – 9-round Swiss Blitz competition;
Open E – Finals of the National University Chess Championships;
Open F –  Iasi University Center Chess Championship for professors
Open G – Iasi Kindergarten Teams Chess Championship;
Open H – Iasi High School Teams Chess Championship;
Open I – Iasi School Teams Thess Chess Championship;
International Symposium “Chess contribution in the development of young”;
Open J – Iasi Kindergarten Individual chess championship;
Open K – Iasi School individual Chess Championship;
Open L – Iasi Teachers Chess Championship;
Open M – Iasi Rapid Chess Championship – 9-round Swiss tournament for players under 11 years old (born after 01.01.2005);
Open N – Iasi Chess Neighborhoods Semifinals;
Open O – Iasi Final Chess Neighborhoods.

The hefty prize fund in the amount of 16,000 EUR will be awarded as follows:
Open A – 11.000 EURO
Open B – 2.000 EURO
Open C – 1.500 EURO
Open D – 1.500 EURO

The Prizes are guaranteed regardless of the number of players. Romanian tax fee will be aplied for the prizes above 600 RON. (16% tax fee).
