42nd India National Premier Women’s Chess Championship

India FlagThe 42nd National Premier Women’s Chess Championship of India is taking place from 13-24th November at the Bengal gallery of ICCR in Kolkata.

International Master Padmini Rout of Odisha is the top-ranked participant and defender of the title.

Delhi’s IM Tania Sachdev is second in the ranking list followed by WGM Soumya Swaminathan of Pune as the top 12 will battle it out against each other in a round robin format of 11 rounds.

The Championship also features the talented WFM R Vaishali, who recently convincingly won the U14 World Youth title in Porto Carras, Greece.

The Championship is organized by the Diaspora Times under the aegis of All India Chess Federation and Bengal Chess Association. The total prize fund is Rs. 6,00,000/- (8500 EUR).
