49th International Dortmund Chess Festival LIVE

The 49th edition of the International Dortmund Chess Festival takes place from 16-24 July at the Congress Centre of the Westfalenhallen Dortmund. The festival features No-Castling World Masters 2022, German Grand Prix 2022, Sparkassen Chess Trophy Open tournaments (A and B), and No-castling online events.

The No-Castling World Masters 2022 will be played from 18-24 July as a double round-robin tournament in 6 rounds with the following players: Viswanathan Anand, Vladimir Kramnik, Michael Adams, and Daniel Fridman.

Seven grandmasters will compete in the German Grand Prix in 7 rounds: GM Bogdan-Daniel Deac (ROU, Elo 2692), GM David Navara (CZE, Elo 2688), GM Pavel Eljanov (UKR, Elo 2681), GM Matthias Bluebaum (GER, Elo 2673), GM Rasmus Svane (GER, Elo 2649), GM Luke McShane (ENG, Elo 2649) and GM Dmitrij Kollars (GER, Elo 2648).

The Sparkassen Chess Trophy 2022 will be played from 16-24 July 2022 within two categories: A and B. The events gathered more than 400 players who will fight for the total prize fund of 12.000 euros. Detailed information about the events

Vladimir Kramnik drops out from the No-Castling World Chess Masters 2022 being replaced by Dmitrij Kollars. GM Dmitrij Kollars was in the field of German Grand Prix and he will be replaced by Erwin L’Ami.
