6th Continental Class Championships

The 6th Annual Continental Class Championships will be held from June 16-18, 2017, at the Westin Tysons Corner, 7801 Leesburg Pike (VA-7), Falls Church, Virginia.

The event will have six sections: Master (2200 and up), Class A (1800-1999/Unr), Class B (1600-1799/Unr), Class C (1400-1599/Unr), Class D (1200-1399/Unr) and Class E (Under 1200/Unr).

All sections will be completed over 5 rounds of Swiss system with the time control 40/100, SD/30 d10 (2-day option, rds 1-2 G/60, d10).

Free lecture by International Master Alex Ostrovskiy, Sunday 9-10 am.

The total prize fund is $20,000 guaranteed.

Master (2200/up): $2000-1000-500-300, clear win or 1st on tiebreak $100, top U2400 $800-400. FIDE. Expert (2000-2199): $1400-700-400-200.
Class A (1800-1999/Unr): $1400-700-400-200.
Class B (1600-1799/Unr): $1400-700-400-200.
Class C (1400-1599/Unr): $1200-600-400-200.
Class D (1200-1399/Unr): $800-400-200-100.
Class E (Under 1200/Unr): $800-400-200-100, plaques to top 3, 1st U1000, U800, Unr.
Rated players may play up one section.
Unrated limits: E $150, D $250, C $400, B $600.

Top 5 sections entry fee: $108 at chessaction.com by 6/14, 3-day $113, 2-day $112 mailed by 6/7, $130 at site, or online until 2 hours before rd 1. GMs $90 from prize.
