After a very successful first edition of International Etna tournament in Nicolosi (CT), in December, a new event – 6th International Terre degli Elimi Tournament will be organized this summer by Alessandro Monaco and his chess club “Amici della Scacchiera” (Chessboard Friends) on the west side of the Sicily island in Erice.
Three Opens, A for players with>1800 rating, B for players with <2000 rating in 9 rounds and C for players with <1500 elo in 8 rounds, will be played from July 28th to August 4th, 2015 in Erice.
Invited titled players will be at hand to help achieving FIDE norms. Among the ones that accepted an invitation so far are, GM Imre Hera (HUN), Italian Champion GM Danyyil Dvirnyy (ITA), GM Fabien Libiszewski (FRA), GM Salvador Alonso (ARG), GM Denes Boros (HUN), Spanish Champion IM Sabrina Vega Gutierrez (ESP) and IM Sophie Milliet (FRA).

Erice in western Sicily (Italy) is 15 km away from ‘airport “Vincenzo Florio” in Trapani (Ryanair Hub), is a true and proper tourist pearl of Sicily, located about 700 meters above sea level overlooking the sea. However, players and guests interested in prolonging their stay and enjoy the area in a relaxed manner, the organizer has arranged for the special hotel prices to be valid from 22 July to 8 August. Special packages to include accommodation, excursions and entry fee are also possible.
