7th Batavia Chess Tournament 2015

BataviaThe 7th Batavia Chess Tournament is scheduled to take place from 20th February to 1st March, 2015 in Café Batavia 1920, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

The main event is a 10-player round robin with GM and IM norm opportunities, played in bar Batavia next to Amsterdam central train station.

Batavia Blitz Tournament will precede the main event. It will be played in a 10-player single round robin format with time control 3′ + 2″.

Participants: GM Dimitri Reinderman (2586) NED, IM Andreas Heimann (2539) GER, GM Roland Schmaltz (2527) GER, IM Jorden van Foreest (2494) NED, GM Daniel Gormally (2489) ENG, IM Stef Soors (2407) BEL, Lars Ootes (2366) NED, Nico Zwirs (2358) NED, IM Etienne Goudriaan (2349) NED and FM Robby Kevlishvili (2347) NED.

The prize fund will be awarded as follows: 500 €/ 300 €/ 200 €, while the winner of the blitz tournament will earn 100 €.

The brilliancy prize of 150 € for the best game is made possible by De Melker & Partners. The jury consists of GM Anish Giri and IMs Manuel Bosboom and Merijn van Delft.

The requirement for a GM norm is 6½ points. An IM-norm is 4½ points.
