8th Asian Schools Chess Championships 2012

On behalf of the Asian Chess Federation and FIDE, the All India Chess Federation has the honour of inviting all Asian National Chess Federations affiliated to FIDE to participate in the 8th Asian Schools Chess Championships 2012 (U5, U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17) in New Delhi, India from 13th to 20th December, 2012.

Each National Federation can enter one player in each of the under 5,7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 (open and girls) categories, totaling a maximum of fourteen (14) invited players. They will play three events in Standard, Rapid and Blitz.

Additional (extra) players can also be registered.

The Championships will be played according to the Swiss System of 7 or 9 rounds or round robin depending upon the number of participants in each category. Seven rounds Swiss will be played with 16 or fewer players and 9 rounds if greater than 16.

Rate of play will be 90 minutes for the whole game + 30 seconds increment for every move played for Standard Championship.

For Rapid Championship the time control will be 15 minutes for whole game + 10 seconds increment for every move played and for Blitz game it will be 3 minutes for whole game + 2 second increment for every move played.

In order to ensure proper tournament standards, all invited players and all additional (extra) players must submit their registration through their National Federations not later than the 12th November 2012 (registration deadline).

The players should be below the respective age groups on or before 1st January 2012.

Organizing committee will accept entries subject to the approval from Asian Chess Federation.

An Entry Fee of US $75 is required for each Invited Player. Their National Federation must send this amount to the Organisers, Capablanca Chess Club.

For each Additional (extra) player, an Entry Fee of US $150 is required. Their National Federation must also send this amount directly to the organisers.

All Invited players, one player per country in each category and a manager are entitled to free Board and lodging for 7 days starting from 13th December 2012 at the Official Hotel. No replacement from other categories can be made in case there is no official player in one category.

All additional players and all other accompanying persons should pay the cost for board and lodging.
