Alexander Morozevich to join Economist SGSEU Saratov

Alexander Morozevich will join the famous club Economist SGSEU Saratov for the next season of team events. He should replace Chinese Grandmaster Ni Hua.

Alexey Vetrov, the head of Economist, said that the contract will be signed at the beginning of March and Morozevich will be registered with the RCF for the upcoming Russian Team Chess Championship.

Morozevich earlier played for Tomsk, while Economist was twice winner of the European Club Cup. In October 2011 Morozevich convincingly won the Saratov Governor Cup. Most recently he won the Vladimir Petrov Memorial in Latvia.

The team of Economist remained homogeneous throughout the years with few changes in the roster. Russians Evgeny Tomashevsky, Dmitry Andreikin, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Evgeny Alekseev, Ukrainians Alexander Moiseenko and Pavel Eljanov, Israeli (born in Saratov) Michael Roiz, are the regular members of the club.
