Ancient Olympia chess tournament

ancient olympic chessPirgos Chess Academy in collaboration with the club of Hotel owners of Ancient Olympia and the Greek Chess Federation organize the 1st Open Greek Blitz-Rapid championship. The chess tournament will take place in Ancient Olympia, the birth place of Olympic Games and athletic spirit, for the very first time.

It is a unique chance to visit the museum as well as the ancient ruins and the Olympic stadium, while staying at the historical Olympic village and participating in a rapid and blitz tournament.

The events will take place 29th August – 1st September. The time control is 5 mins + 3 sec for blitz and 20 mins + sec for rapid. Both tournaments are 9 rounds Swiss events.

A total prize fund of 3000 eur is dedicated for the Ancient Olympia events.
