The 14th ASEAN + Age-Group Chess Championships will be held on 5-14th June 2013 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Each country may register any number of players to participate in the U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16, U-18 and U-20 Age-Groups for Girls and Open. Players who are entitled to participate must not have reached the relevant ages before 1st January 2013.
Each country may register any number of players to participate in the Seniors above 50. Players who are entitled to participate must have reached age of 50 before 1st January 2013.
Players outside The Association of Southeast Asian Nations are welcome to play in this tournament.
In the last 2 rounds, where possible, players from the same country and who have more than 50% shall not be paired to play each other.
Time Control
Standard Chess: Each player has 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment (starting from first move).
Rapid Chess: Each player has 25 minutes to complete the game.
Blitz Chess: Each player has 5 minutes to complete the game.
In the determination of FIDE Direct Title Awards applicable to Standard Chess only, the tiebreak shall be used in case of more than one Gold, or more than one Silver or more than one Bronze were awarded. FM/WFM titles are awarded to the winners (regardless of ASEAN or Non-ASEAN players) of the youth categories.
In the case of a tie, after the tie-break, only the top three finishers shall be awarded. CM/WCM titles are awarded, after the tie-break, to Silver and Bronze Medal winners, and not more than one title shall be awarded for each (2nd/3rd) position.
IM/WIM titles are awarded for the ASEAN U-20 category.
The Official Hotel is the 4-Star The Imperial Mae Ping Hotel, 153 Sridonchai Rd., Chang Klan, Chiang Mai, Kingdom of Thailand.
Chiang Mai is located in the north of Thailand. There is Chiang Mai International Airport not far from the town centre, with 130 flights a week from Bangkok, as well as Singapore, China, Malaysia, South Korea. From Bangkok by plane, it takes only 55 minutes of flight time to Chiang Mai.

All players are also required to send their passport photo size in jpeg file to the Organizer for preparation of name plates. Deadline for Registration is 15th May 2013.
Players who are absent from the Technical Meeting shall not be paired for Round 1. For every player or accompanying person who registered but does not show up, a penalty of USD 25 shall be imposed on their Federations.
