Canadian Open 2014

Canadian Open 2014This year’s Quebec Open will be merged with the Canadian Open in one super-tournament to be held on 19-26th July in the “Grand Salon” of the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth, in Montreal.

The 9-round Swiss tournament is organized by the Quebec Chess Federation. The total prize fund is $25,000, with $20,000 guaranteed.

Over 2400 (CFC, FQE and FIDE rated):
$4,000, $2,000, $1,200, $700, $400, $200, $100 — $1500 (best Quebecer: Gowlings prize), $500 (best junior), $300 (best woman), $300 (best senior), $250 (best cadet)

Under 2400 FIDE (CFC, FQE and FIDE rated):
$1,500, $900, $600, $500, $400, $300, $200, $100, $300 (-2200), $225 (-2100), $125 (best woman), $125 (best senior), $125 (best junior), $75 (best cadet)

Under 2000 (CFC and FQE rated):
$1000, $600, $300, $200, $250 (-1900), $150 (-1800), $125 (best woman), $125 (best senior), $125 (best junior), $75 (best cadet)

Under 1700 (CFC and FQE rated):
$750, $500, $250, $100, $150 (-1500), $100 (-1400), $125 (best woman), $125 (best senior), $125 (best junior), $75 (best cadet)

Under 1300 (CFC and FQE rated):
$600, $400, $200, $100, $100 (best U1200), $75 (best U1100), $50 (best unrated player), $125 (best woman), $125 (best senior), $125 (best junior), $75 (best cadet)
