The American will face-off against a 10-year-old app version of the reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen in a very special Play Magnus Charity Chess Challenge for the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour. For each move Christian Pulisic will make against 10-year-old Magnus, our Partner PUMA will donate 500 US-Dollar to UNICEF. Christian said: “Chess is a recent passion that I rekindled during all the time indoors in lockdown and today I am happy to join the Play Magnus Charity Chess Challenge for a good cause.” On Wednesday, Pulisic will also auction off a pair of the Premier League star’s signed PUMA football boots to raise even more money for UNICEF.
So far more than $60,000 has been raised for UNICEF from donations made by fans, players and the proceeds from charity auctions.
