Dennis Poliquit wins 2015 Taher Group Law Firm tournament in Kuwait

kuwait-flagThe Taher Group Law Firm chess tournament 2015 was held from June 26 to July 4, 2015, in Kuwait.

The event was a 9-round Swiss tournament with tempo of play 60′ + 30″.

47 players from 8 different federations participated (Egypt, FIDE, India, Jordan, Kuwait, Philippines, Spain and United States of America).

Dennis Poliquit (PHI) emerged a clear winner having 7,5 points from 9 games and leaving the nearest followers a full points behind.

The second place was shared in a four-way tie by CM Bader Al-Hajiri (KUW), CM Abdul Wahab Al-Othman (KUW), Vincent Zaulda (PHI) and Ferdinand Laming (PHI) at 6,5 points each.

However, Al-Hajiri prevailed on a superior tie-break score to take the silver while Al-Othman remained third.
