ECU Girls’ and Women’s Chess Weekend

European Girls’ and Women’s Chess Weekend will take place on 14-16 May with various contents: tournaments, coaching sessions, simultaneous exhibitions, and panel debates.

Tournaments will be played through lichess.com in different rating categories: for beginners, for participants rated under 1300, for players U1800 and for others. The best players from the qualifier sections will participate in the Finals.

Besides this tournament, the International girls and women team battle will be organized with participation of national federations.

From 15-16 of May, four simultaneous exhibitions will be organized with WGM Laura Unuk (World Youth Chess Champion Winner U16), WFM Denise Trippold, WGM Petra Papp and GM Marie Sebag. Simultaneously with exhibitions, there will be LIVE commentary by WIM Lara Janzelj & WIM Teja Vidic (through the twitch channel), WFM Nikola Mayrhuber and WIM Inna Agrest.

Coaching sessions will have three main blocks that will be open to everyone and do not require sign up. The lecturers will be WIM Jana Schneider (presenting the theme: The instructive games of Women World Champions), WIM Lara Janzelj and Teja Vidic, and GM Marie Sebag who will speak on the Attacking the king theme. The final block of coaching sessions will take place in small groups with WGM Petra Papp and IM Elisabeth Paehtz.
