European School Chess Championships 2016

The European Chess Union and the International School Chess Union have the honour of inviting all National Chess Federations of the European Chess Union and eligible players to participate in the European School Championships 2016 organised in Kassandra, Halkidiki, Greece from 16-26 June.

The Championship is organized in 12 different age categories: U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 and U17, Boys and Girls separately.

The tournament will be played according to the Swiss System in 9 rounds, with the time control 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, plus 30 seconds increment per move starting from move one.

The registration deadline is Monday, 18 April 2016. Entries must be sent from the National Federations or the players and returned to the Tournament Director. If the registration form is not forwarded by the Federation a copy must be sent to the National Federation for information and approval.

All the winners in each category get trophies and special prizes, 4-6 place get medals and chess gifts, and there are 10 special as well as 3 team prizes.

The organizers have provided side events during the Championship, such as excursions program, seminars and solving competition.
