The 97th edition of the Argentine Absolute Chess Championship was held from 1st-10th December 2022 in Hotel Monte Claro, San Carlos de Bariloche, Rio Negro. 12 players competed in 11 rounds (round-robin system) for the title of National Chess Champion and the prize fund of 1.000.000 ARS (~5.760eur). The time control was 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.
GM Fernando Peralta won the event with 8 points clinching his third national title (2016, 2018, 2022). GM Alan Pichot, GM Leandro Krysa, and GM Sandro Mareco followed with 7.5 points, each, tying for second place.
