Fernando Peralta is the Winner of the 97th Argentine Chess Championship

The 97th edition of the Argentine Absolute Chess Championship was held from 1st-10th December 2022 in Hotel Monte Claro, San Carlos de Bariloche, Rio Negro. 12 players competed in 11 rounds (round-robin system) for the title of National Chess Champion and the prize fund of 1.000.000 ARS (~5.760eur). The time control was 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one.

GM Fernando Peralta won the event with 8 points clinching his third national title (2016, 2018, 2022). GM Alan Pichot, GM Leandro Krysa, and GM Sandro Mareco followed with 7.5 points, each, tying for second place. Tiebreaks criteria favored Alan Pichot who claimed silver and Leandro Krysa won the bronze medal. Scroll down for the final rankings
