Festa da Uva 2012, set to take place on 1st-4th March in Caxias do Sul, will be the first major chess event in Brazil in 2012.
As hinted in an interview, Hungarian GM Judit Polgár will play in a round-robin tournament together with GM Henrique Mecking, GM Gilberto Milos and GM Andres Rodriguez (Uruguay). She will also host a simultaneous exhibition and participate in various other activities.
In addition, there will be an open tournament on 3-4th March. The total prize fund is around 7100 EUR.
The XI Torneio Festa da Uva, which was played in 2010, featured Vassily Ivanchuk as the star player.
