FIDE Commission for Disabled (DIS) meeting in Tallinn

The FIDE Commission for the Disabled (DIS) held its first meeting for 2016 in Tallinn, Estonia on 2-3rd June.

The main topic was the discussion on new regulations of FIDE DIS events and standardization of all DIS events with FIDE requirements.

The final drafts will be submitted for approval during the next FIDE Congress in Baku, 4-14 September 2016.

For 2017, the 3rd World Championship for Disabled will be held in Dresden, Germany and the 1st World Junior Championship for Disabled (U20) in Orlando, USA. During the events, DIS will host parallel FIDE seminars for organisers, arbiters and trainers.

The DIS Commission will also seek access to fundraising and EU grants by registering as a non-profit foundation within the EU.
