FIDE Events Commission in cooperation with the German Chess Federation organized a FIDE IO Seminar in Gladenbach, Germany from 11th to 13th May 2012.
Fifteen (15) participants from Germany and Belgium attended the seminar among them well known organizers and federations’ officials. The seminar consisted from the following topics:
• Regulations Events Commission (Mission, Events Regulations, Bid Procedure)
• Ratings and Titles
• Events’ Management
The seminar Lecturers were:
• Theodoros Tsorbatzoglou , Secretary FIDE Events Commission
• Joachim Gries , Vice President German Chess Federation, Events Management
• Christian Krause, Member of FIDE Qualification Commission
The seminar was held in a creative atmosphere, including, beside the presentations, group work, case studies and team building.
Last part of the Seminar was the evaluation organizers’ test. Successful participants will receive the FIDE IO norm which is necessary for the application of the International Organizer Title.
The first IO Seminar was held in January in Moscow during the Moscow Chess Open.
