FIDE World Chess Championship Match venue to be announced this week

FIDE World Chess Championship Match 2023 will be held from 7 April to 30 April 2023, determining new World Chess Champion in classical chess. Ian Nepomniachtchi – the Winner of the Candidates Tournament 2022 and Ding Liren – the runner-up of the Candidates Tournament 2022 will face each-other, as Magnus Carlsen withdrew from the World Championship.

FIDE yesterday announced that the FIDE Council has reviewed the bids received to host World championship match, and its members are currently casting their votes. The official announcement will come later this week.
