The newcomer in the premier computer chess championship TCEC – Fizbo by Youri Matiounine has played a fantastic game in round 2 of the Preliminary stage. Fizbo defeated one of the favorites of the group – Ginkgo (ELO 3037).
The game was a Grünfeld Modern Exchange and for the ones having the database and repertoire of GM Arnaudov the victory of Fizbo is a logical outcome. The nice highlight comes from the fact that the engine Fizbo had only 2-move opening knowledge and worked out the correct approach over the board.

A second second brilliancy of the day was an endgame by Texel against Fridolin. In a R+6p vs R+6p, Texel sacrificed two pawns to get a victory in the end. Replay the game here
