FM Artem Gilevych and Giuseppe Imburgia winners of 4th Liscate Chess Trophy

LiscateThe 4th Liscate Chess Trophy 2014 took part on 17-19th October 2014 at the Centro Civico Polifunzionale in Liscate, a commune in the Province of Milan in the Italian region of Lombardy.

The event was split into two separate tournaments – Open A (for players rated over 1800) and Open B (for players below 1850).

Both of the events were played in a 5-round Swiss FIDE format with a time control 100′ + 30″. The total prize fund was in the amount of 2.100 €.

Open A was topped by Italian FM Artem Gilevych, Serbian GM Miroljub Lazic and Italian IM Daniele Genocchio on 4 points each, but Gylevych lifted the trophy on superior tie-break score.

First prize in Open B was shared by Italian Giuseppe Imbrugia and his compatriot Camillo Brioschi on 4,5/5 points, but Imbrugia prevailed and took the gold.

Fulvio Tinelli (Italy) finished third with 4/5. Ronny Liekens (Belgium) and Gianloris Lamperti (Italy) obtained the same amount of points but had a worse Bucholz score. You can see the full standings below.
