FM Venkata Karthik wins Super Heroes Cup

The Super Heroes Cup 2021, organized by Chessbase India, took place 14-16 May. 16 real life super heroes fought in a knock-out tournament and all of them are already winners!

The event featured 6 visually impaired persons, 6 physically disabled and 3 deaf. Read more about participants here.

The final match was played between FM Venkata Krishna Karthik K and Kishan Gangolli. After equal score in the regular match, a decisive Armageddon game was played to determine the winner. Venkata Karthik took the victory with White pieces to become a Super Heroes Cup champion.

The entire tournament was broadcasted live by Chessbase India, with commentary by IM Sagar Shah, Amruta Mokal and special guests.
