Gata Kamsky winner of Eastern Class Championships

The reigning US Champion Gata Kamsky won the Master section of the 23rd Annual Eastern Class Championships that were held on March 14-16 at the Host Hotel at Cedar Lake, Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

Kamsky finished clear first with 4,5/5 points, ahead of a group of American Grandmasters. Last weekend he shared the first place in Marchand Open.

The Master section had 39 participants. There were six other elo sections – Expert, Class A, Class B, Class C, Class D and Class E.

Master section final standings:

1. GM Gata Kamsky 2778 NY – 4,5 ($2060 prize)
2-5. GM Sam Shankland 2698 CA, GM Aleksandr Lenderman 2693 NY, IM Victor C Shen 2494 NJ and Deepak Aaron 2448 NY – 4,0 ($430 each)
6-7. GM Alexander Ivanov 2590 MA and GM Alexander Fishbein 2565 NJ – 3,5 etc
