GCT Paris Rapid to be broadcast on CANAL+ SPORT channel

The Grand Chess Tour is very pleased to announce that the 2017 GCT Rapid tournament in Paris will be broadcast on the CANAL+ SPORT channel in France. The show will feature a daily highlights package of the best games from each the five days play. Each show will last for one hour and will be aired nightly at 23.30 between June 21st and June 25th inclusive.

The shows will be hosted by the CANAL+ television journalist Pauline Sanzey.

CANAL+ is a French premium cable television channel launched in 1984 and is 100% owned by the CANAL+ Group, a subsidiary of Vivendi SA. This will be the very first time that a French-language broadcaster has provided coverage of this nature for an international chess tournament and it represents is a huge step forward for the development of the Grand Chess Tour.

To facilitate the television production, the tournament will be staged at the CANAL+ studios in Boulogne, Paris and will not be open to the public.

Chess fans can follow the tournament live on DAILYMOTION where commentary will be available in English, Spanish and French for all rounds. French speaking viewers will then have the bonus of the evening highlight packages on television.
