A few days after the announcement of the German Open National Team for the upcoming 44th Chess Olympiad 2022, it has been disclosed who will compete for the German Women’s Team.
The Women’s Team will be captained and coached by Yuri Yakovich, who named the following five players to represent Germany in India from 28th July – 10 August:
- IM Elisabeth Paehtz (2497)
- WGM Hanna Marie Klek (2362)
- WGM Dinara Wagner (2287)
- WGM Josefine Heinemann (2300)
- WGM Jana Schneider (2303)
Elisabeth Paehtz will lead the German Women’s Team in Chennai. Paehtz has been the top player and mainstay of the German team for many years. She has played for Germany in 11 Women’s Chess Olympiads, since 1998. In the first regular Olympics in 4 years, the Women’s Team of Germany will try to beat the 28th place from Batumi Chess Olympiad 2018.
