The Smashing Pawns organized a rapid chess tournament on 20th September in Schifflange, Luxembourg.
The tournament consisted of 104 players coming from 11 federations which is a great representation. The playing format was 9-round Swiss with the time control 15’+5”. The event is rated with FIDE.
GM Alberto David, formerly of Luxembourg and now representing Italy, emerged clear winner with 8,0/9 points to claim the top prize of 1000 EUR.
