GM Conrad Holt wins United States Open Chess Championship

The 115th Annual United States Open Chess Championship took place from 26th July to 3rd August at the Rosen Centre Hotel, 9840 International Dr, Orlando, Florida 32819.

The tournament format was 9-round Swiss one section with Class prizes and time control 40/120, SD/60 d5. Top US player not otherwise qualified will be seeded in the 2015 US Championship.

Six players shared the first place with 7,5 points each, and two with the top tie-break scores were invited for Armageddon Playoff Game.

GM Conrad Holt defeated IM Michael Mulyar to emerge new U.S. Open Champion.

The prize fund was $50,000 based on 500 paid entries, else proportional, with $40,000 guaranteed.
