GM Ivan Lopez Salgado wins 1st International Tournament “Neoclassical chess”

Cartel neoclassicalchessThe 1st International Chess Tournament “Neoclassical chess” took place on 9th May, 2015, in Hotel Holiday Inn, Madrid – Bernabeu.

The event was separated into two tournaments – Master Tournament and Open B, both with tournament format 8-player round-robin and tempo of play 20′ + 10″.

The Master section was a strong 13th category chess event with an average Elo rating of 2557.

GM Ivan Lopez Salgado emerged a clear winner with 5.5/7 points, leaving the nearest followers half a point behind.

GM David Anton Guijarro edged GM Francisco Vallejo Pons on a better tie-break score to take the second place, while the winner of Group B FM Antonio Lopez Del Alamo qualified for the 2016 edition of the Master tournament.
