Third position was for GM Kevin Spraggett, while the rating favorite GM Eduardo Iturrizaga did not participate due to a car accident.
The next event for Ivan Salgado is the European Team Chess Championship, where he will play for Spain with GM Shirov, GM Vallejo, GM Illescas, and GM Arizmendi.
