GM Karen Grigoryan clear first in Lake Sevan

The 2013 edition of the traditional Lake Sevan took place on September 7-17, 2013, in Armenia.

Ten players from Austria, Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Russia and Armenia competed in the round robin tournament.

Local Grandmaster Karen Grigoryan (18), who started as the youngest and lowest rated player in the event, surpassed the expectations and emerged clear winner with 6,5/9 points. Grigoryan also earned 29 elo points.

Only two weeks ago Grigoryan convincingly won the Armenian 1st League to qualify for the national championship.
